Busting the Book of Mormon: The CLOVIS MODEL & DNA!
The Claim that the Lamanites are Native Americans Descendants Disproved
With the Mormon church having recently changed parts of the introduction of the Book of Mormon, now claiming that the "Lamanite" descendants of the Book of Mormon are "among" the Native American people [1], instead of the sole descendants of the Native Americans, as it was taught in the LDS faith since Joseph Smith's day. There are video's circulating with DNA evidence for busting down the Book of Mormon, and that the Book of Mormon characters do not share DNA with North American Natives. Well this is a semi truth, since there is a tribe with 33% DNA linking to the Middle East [2].
I will show how this is possible and the reasoning of this by using the Clovis model along with DNA and evolution against Book of Mormon claims showing that it is 100% a man made book, created by Joseph Smith, and cannot be a historically real founded book from a "Lost Tribe".
"The book was written by many ancient prophets by the spirit of prophecy and revelation. Their words, written on gold plates, were quoted and abridged by a prophet-historian named Mormon. The record gives an account of two great civilizations. One came from Jerusalem in 600 B.C., and afterward separated into two nations, known as the Nephites and the Lamanites. The other came much earlier when the Lord confounded the tongues at the Tower of Babel. This group is known as the Jaredites. After thousands of years, all were destroyed except the Lamanites, and they are among the ancestors of the American Indians."[3]
There are major problems with this above quote which is directly taken from the introduction page of The Book of Mormon on LDS.org. The first issue we come across is the civilization claimed to have come over in 600 B.C.E. This group in the Book of Mormon are the Nephites and Lamanites, who are blood line tribes of 2 brothers come from the father Lehi, who is claimed to have been a prophet in Jerusalem in 600 B.C.E at the time of Jeremiah. Lehi is told by god to leave the city due to its wickedness and that Israel would be put under subject for their wickedness. Lehi takes his family into the "wilderness" and they dwell there for 5 years. Lehi's second youngest son Nephi was appointed prophet over his family along with a family they recruited from the city during that 5 year self-exile. Nephi is instructed by god to build a boat and sail to a new land which would be their inheritance and never to have been inhabited by others. They land according to Joseph Smith, in what is now Central America, ending up branching into two rival groups, the Nephites, who were loyal to Nephi and is father and the Lamanites, which were the two eldest brothers of the Lehi clan, and their families. These 2 families warred with one another for over a thousand years and eventually the Lamanite tribe slaughtered every Nephite and became the sole descendants of the Native Americans. The Lamanites also slayed another rival civilization called the Jaradites who happened to be in the land since the times of the Tower of Babel, contradicting the claim of The Book of Mormon about Lehi's clan being the first to inherit the land. We will discuss the Jardite issue after the Lehi issue. These claims are two fold in problems. They are the dating of these events and the blood linage of the Native, Central and South Americans. The story of the civilization dating 600 B.C.E causes issues with the well-established Clovis-First-Model, which shows how the Native peoples of the America's first came over. This model dates the Natives as being in approx. 18,000 B.C.E via crossing of an ice causeway from the Mongolian regions. DNA has shown that this is correct and is not disputed. The DNA markers in the majority of Native tribes does not contain any Middle Eastern linage at all, zero percent. There is how ever a Tribe that does carry a 33% Middle Eastern DNA, the Cherokee. This can easily be explained via Evolution, DNA and The Clovis model in these ways.
According to evolution we modern humans started out on the African plains. Eventually our distant ancestors left the plains and for an extended period settled in the regions of the Middle East. We know that when they started their migration again, that some went further east and others went up into what is now Europe. Again our descendants who traveled further east split up again and either went north or south. Those who went north eventually settled into regions known today as Mongolia and Siberia, we know from DNA markers that this is correct. So through Natural Selection via Evolution and DNA support, we can place Middle Eastern DNA among certain Mongolian tribes. We can neatly tie this in with the Clovis-First-Model then since we know that the Natives of the America’s traveled from those regions stated above. It then stands that at least one tribe in North America would carry some of that Middle Eastern DNA via their descendants who carried it originally.
There are several dozen tribes/bands of Native Americans in North America which do not share any DNA of Middle Eastern descent at all. The fact that only one Band does clearly shows the claims of the Lamanite descent of Native Americans to be false. We have over a 10,000 year gap in this time period of the arrival of the Native Americans and a 99% rate of unrelated DNA to these so claimed Nephites and Lamanites. We can now move on to the issue with the claimed Jaradites who are claimed in the Book of Mormon to have come during the times of the Tower of Babel. If we follow the genealogical linage of Genesis we can get an estimate of when this event took place and it would bring us to approx. 1757 and 1996 B.C.E after the Creation myth, which according to creationists is 6000 years ago. Clearly this is also wrong as the Clovis Model for the Native American descendant’s show they were here 12000 years before the so called 6000 year creation. The Tower of Babel takes up to 5.500-4000 years ago, which sets the Jaredites to be approx. 7,000 years after the Mongolian – Serbian peoples migrated this way. This would mean that "god" again was once wrong and there were another people here before the Jaredites. Twice "god" tells the Book of Mormon peoples that two different civilizations they would inherit a land no one else has, and had been shown wrong twice.
Under the same evidence and facts for the people of Lehi, Evolution-DNA-Clovis Model the Jaredite story cannot be correct either. Both the stories have been shown incorrect by the mentioned above three examples. Either the Book of Mormon is correct and these events happened and that the Natives are direct descendants to the Hebrews, or it is false and the Clovis model and DNA correct, which we know it is. Obviously just on DNA and the Clovis Model we can dispel the Book of Mormon as accurately correct, and historical. We should be labeling it under fantasy or fiction. It is a created work by Joseph Smith through his imagination, stealing from other authors and plagiarizing of the King James Version of the bible. There is no logical or rational defense of these facts and clearly disproves the Book of Mormon.
